Jun 18,  · A lot of Anthrax fans hate the John Bush era. It wasn't the thrash of the Belladonna era, but it wasn't rubbish either. Had this album not been released directly before the collapse of the record that released it, I think it would have done way better and improved people's perceptions of Bush/5(6).

Anthrax Format: Audio CD. out of 5 stars 82 ratings. Volume 8: The Threat Is Real! seethes with betrayal and animosity, lashing out like a lean, rabid Doberman. This isn't just the raging Anthrax of days past. 'Harm's Way' is another good, slightly different, medium-paced curio that unfortunately has to pre-empt 'Hog Tied', 'Big Fat /5(81).

This is an outstanding album. John Bush's singing goes perfectly with Anthrax, imo, and this album is a perfect example. The first four songs on this disc absolutely rock (Crush, Catharsis, Inside Out, and P & V) and from there on, the album is pretty solid throughout, including a couple of high speed, short, kind of funny throw in songs here with and Cupajoe, which pretty much rock out /5(79).

Nov 07,  · Originally released in , Volume 8: the Threat Is Real was the third album of "the Bush era". I was always aware of Anthrax growing up, but aside from their goofball "I'm the Man" single, the band never really made much of an impact on me until they replaced vocalist Joey Belladonna with Armored Saint's John Bush/5().

Originally released in , Volume 8: The Threat Is Real marked a return to form for Anthrax after the disappointing Stomp Its metal was thicker, especially on the pummeling "Piss & Vinegar" and hysterical "Killing Box," but the band also branched out with the rambling country-rock of "Toast .
  7. Aratilar says:
Ignored by all but diehards, Stomp found Anthrax in creative freefall, shackled to ideas that had ceased to be interesting years ago. Apparently, the band realized they were in dire straits -- that's the only explanation for the ambitious cavalcade of sounds on Volume 8: The Threat Is Real, the follow-up to Stomp /
